This incredibly unique sea-storm scene leaves me with the feeling as if I was watching something quite miraculous unfolding during the latter part of the Holy Week, the last week of the Lenten season before Easter. The name Twelve Apostles totally reminds me of the Last Supper where Jesus got together with the apostles, so from a spiritual point of view, the entire scene, along with the dynamic weather, is reminiscent of the most eventful events that unfolded during the holy days.
There is a great deal of serenity to the scene, especially with its dimness due to the haze and the natural colors of the storm, the sea, and the rocky beach. The double rainbows definitely liven up the stormy scene through its contrasting colors!
The shot is so well-balanced with the rocks down the middle along with the rainbows that stretch into the storm clouds. The rocky beach in the foreground allows for an excellent vertical balance between the sky and the ground (i.e., the beach and the ocean).
The scene being so natural is one of the things I really appreciate about this shot. The entire shot looks so similar to what one would see in person. Looking at the seascape definitely makes me feel as if I was there in person!
What can I say? This one is incredibly awesome and definitely leaves me with the feeling of tranquility, even when I think about it!
